Strongbolt 2 upgrade released

A new year sees a completely new release of Strongbolt.
The Strongbolt2 upgrade is an easy process that just involves installing a couple of packages through the package management interface (bluelinq).

The Strongbolt2 ROM

With the arrival of Strongbolt2, we have a new ROM for Cobalt servers.
The new ROM is based on the source from sourceforge.net, but modified to include a 2.6 kernel. The reason for this is to facillitate booting from USB and support for extra hardware.

Upgrading your RaQ or Qube from another OS

How to upgrade your server to Strongbolt 2 (for servers not currently running Strongbolt).

This article applies to the following servers:

RaQ3
RaQ4
RaQ550
Qube3

and the following operating systems:

Original Cobalt OS
RaQ550 OS
Rackstar OS

Visit the osoffice online shop here and purchase the Strongbolt2 USB key installer
When you have received the Strongbolt2 USB key installer, contact our support department here
One of our engineers will login to your server and update the system ROM ready for the new operating system.
We will require that your server is online and reachable via SSH in order to update the system ROM.
Plug the Strongbolt2 USB key installer into the USB slot on the rear of your server.
The OS Office engineer will reboot the server and the install process will start automatically.
